- to provide a framework for assigning students from diverse academic backgrounds to WHO programmes, where educational experience can be enhanced through practical work assignments;
- to expose students to the work of WHO and
- to provide WHO programmes with the assistance of students specializing in various fields.

INTERNSHIP DETAILS
Education:
- Minimum of three years university studies, with a degree in public health/mass communication/political science.
- Other advanced degree with a focus on international affairs (an asset).
Skills:
All interns should possess the following skills in line with the WHO core competencies:
- Communicating effectively orally and in writing
- Showing willingness to learn from mistakes
- Producing and delivering quality results
- Working collaboratively with team members
- Respecting and promoting cultural difference
- A good knowledge of the Indian geography, demography and sociology
- An interest in issues related to health and social and human development policies
- The ability to write clearly and succinctly in English
- A desire to work in a dynamic and international environment
- Excellent working knowledge of basic Office applications and powerful skills for Online research
Experience:
Experience in research and in drafting reports would be preferred.
Experience in the subject area through academic work or research would be an advantage.
Field and/or developing country experience would be an advantage.
More specific experience such as statistics or specialized computer programmes would be an advantage.
Languages:
Interns should have a good working knowledge of English.
Duration: Three months
