Post 1: Scientist C- Medical (Physician) (One): Rs. 60,000p.m. Consolidated inclusive of HRA.

Essential qualifications: MBBS Degree recognized by MCI with eight years R&D experience in the relevant area in recognized institute(s) after MBBS, out of which at least 2 years in a managerial position to handle R&D projects in a team effectively in a directing capacity.

Desirable: MD in Community Medicine; Teaching/research experience in Infectious Diseases/Malaria after obtaining essential qualification; publication in the relevant field; Knowledge of Computer application; Fluency in English and Tamil.

Age: Up to 45 years.

Post 2: Technician- C (Laboratory Technician) – Two posts: Rs. 18,360/= p.m. Consolidated

Essential qualifications: 10+2 with Science subjects or equivalent from a recognized board with two years Diploma in DMLT from Govt. recognized Organizations/Institute/Medical College.

Desirable: Graduate, preferably in Life Sciences/Medical lab technology. Fluency in English and Tamil.

Age: Up to 30 years.

Post 3: Technician- C (Data Entry Operator) – Two posts: Rs. 18,360/= p.m. Consolidated

Essential qualifications: 10+2 with Science subjects or equivalent from a recognized board with two years Diploma in Computer Applications.

Desirable: Graduate in Computer Science/IT. Good computer skills and experience in using MS Office; scientific data handling and statistical data analysis; Fluency in English and Tamil.

Age: Up to 30 years.

Post 4: Technician- C (Field Worker) – Two posts: Rs. 18,360/= p.m. Consolidated

Essential qualification: 10+2 with Science subjects or equivalent from a recognized board with two years Diploma in the relevant discipline/Two years experience in the field.

Desirable:  Graduate, preferably in Life Sciences. Experience in the field survey of infectious diseases/Malaria in any research organization or medical institution. Fluency in English and Tamil.

Age: Up to 30 years.

Age Limit: Age is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per Central Govt. rules.

Place of duty: The contractual staff will be posted at the project site in Chennai involving travel to field areas as deemed fit for the progress of the work.

Duration: The engagement in the above posts would be co-terminus with the project and the persons would be engaged initially for six months to one year, but the period of their engagement may be curtailed or extended at the discretion of the competent authority. Interested and eligible candidates may appear for a Walk-in-Interview together with their complete bio-data and photocopies of the certificates/testimonials and the originals for verification before the Selection Committee at 10.00 A.M. on the following dates at NIMR field unit, NIE campus, 2^nd Main Road, TNHB, Ayapakkam, Chennai- 77.

1. Posts 1 and 2:  Interview date- 23^rd February 2012.
2. Posts 3 and 4:  Interview date- 24^th February 2012.

NOC is necessary in the case of persons serving in Central/State Govt./Autonomous Bodies/PSUs. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
