The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) was constituted in 1972 under the Marine Products Export Development Authority Act 1972 (No.13 of 1972). The role envisaged for the MPEDA under the statute is comprehensive - covering fisheries of all kinds, increasing exports, specifying standards, processing, marketing, extension and training in various aspects of the industry.

Educational and other qualifications required for the post
Essential:
D.F.Sc. of the CIFE/a post graduate degree in Mariculture/Aquaculture/FisheryScience/Zoology/Marine Biology/Ocean Life Science/Industrial Fisheries or equivalent.
Desirable:
Experience in Prawn Farming/Prawn Culture Research.
Upper age limit as on 01.04.2012 : 35 years
Lower age limit as on 01.04.2012 : 21 years
Pay Band plus Grade Pay: PB1 Rs.5200/-20200/-+2400
