ASSAM PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION TECHNICAL OFFICER, RESEARCH ASSISTANT AND REGISTERING OFFICER POSITION
The Assam Public Service Commission came into existence on Ist April, 1937 in accordance with the provision of the Govt. of India Act, 1935 with Mr James Hezelett, a retired ICS officer from London, as its first Chairman.
Assam Public Service Commission invites application from Indian Citizens as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India for the under-mentioned posts under Assam Government in the scale of pay as indicated against each and carrying usual allowances as admissible under rules of the Govt. of Assam.

1. (SOLITARY POST) OF TECHNICAL OFFICER UNDER THE DIRECTORATE OF ARCHAEOLOGY, ASSAM
1. (SOLITARY POST) OF TECHNICAL OFFICER UNDER THE DIRECTORATE OF ARCHAEOLOGY, ASSAM
REQUISITE QUALIFICATION:
1) Post Graduate Degree in Ancient Indian History/History of Archaeology or Sanskrit or Archaeology with PreHistory as one of the subjects.
2) 2 (Two) years Post Graduate Diploma in Archaeology from a Govt. recognized institution.
3) Experience in Archaeological Field works in a Govt. recognized institution especially in Archaeological exploration and excavation.
4) Atleast 5(five) years experience in the field of Archaeological works in any Govt. recognized institution will be preferred.
SCALE OF PAY: Rs. 12,000/ to Rs. 40,000/-(PB-4) with Grade Pay of Rs.5400/- PM plus other allowances as admissible under the Rules.
AGE: The age limit is 38 years to 45 years as on 01-01-2012, relaxable by 5(five) years for SC/ST candidates as per relaxation granted by the Govt.
2. (SOLITARY POST) OF REGISTERING OFFICER (CLASS-II –GAZETTED) UNDER THE REGISTRATION OF ANTIQUTIES SECTION (A CENTRALLY SPONSORED SCHEME) OF THE DIRECTORATE OF ARCHAEOLOGY,ASSAM
REQUISITE QUALIFICATION: Post Graduate Degree in Ancient Indian History/History of Archaeology or Sanskrit or Archaeology with Pre-History as one of the subjects.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION: Desirable experience in Archaeological field works in a Govt.
recognized institution and knowledge of antiquities.
SCALE OF PAY: Rs. 8000/- to Rs. 35000/- (PB-3) with Grade pay of Rs. 5100/- PM plus other allowances as admissible under the Rules.
AGE: 21 years to 38 years as on 01-01-2012, relexable by 5(five) years for SC/ST Candidates as per relaxation granted by the Govt.
3. POSTS OF RESEARCH ASSISTANT IN THE DIRECTORATE OF TOWN & COUNTRY PLANNING, ASSAM UNDER URBAN DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
A Bachelor Degree from a recognized University with Economics or Geography or Sociology or Statistics or Mathematics as one of the subjects.
SCALE OF PAY: Rs. 8000/- to Rs. 35000/- (PB-3) with Grade pay of Rs. 4300/- PM plus other allowances as admissible under the Rules.
AGE:21 years to 38 years as on 01-01-2012. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5(five) years in case of SC/ST candidates.The Govt. servant will get age relaxation as per Govt. Rules.
